The last model year for the AMC Eagle. The AMC badge
had been removed and the car was known as the American Eagle.
All of the cars sold during this model year were produced in
calendar year 1987; there are no known AMC Eagles actually built
in 1988. The Eagle marquee would continue but the cars would
be Renault/AMC based models, models from Mitsubuishi and some
Chrysler based cars.
